Sr. Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the Centralized Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix and Office 365 Network to ensure network availability around the clock (24/7).

o Monitors enterprise health and functionality. Takes corrective action as necessary.
o Manages network services and Active Directory.
o Performs routine SQL maintenance and back up.
o Manage and maintain Office 365 services.
o Manage and maintain VMWare servers via vSphere and/or vCenter.
o Manage and maintain VoIP systems.
o Maintains Finance software, manages patching, and upgrades, liaison to consultants and product tech support.
o Interacts and provides support and resource to help desk staff.

• Ensures Network is protected from external threats.

o Keeps the network secure and free from virus infections, ensure virus definitions are up to date.
o Maintains fire wall protection IDS appliance
o Minimizes Spam, Adware, and Spyware throughout the network.

• Perform daily system backups and ensure disaster recoverability.

o Ensures data is replicated and backed.
o Test Disaster recovery plans.
o Server and backbone hardware diagnosis, recovery or replacement

Requirements

Requirements

• Degree in related field and 3-6 years of IT experience, or equivalent applicable work experience

• 3-5 years Server Administrator experience (Windows Server 2008 /2012)

• Strong knowledge of VMWare, Active Directory, Office 365 and Citrix XenDesktop

• Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as, Splunk, a plus

• Excellent problem solving, documentation, and communication skills

• Experience with integration between enterprise information systems

• Proven leadership, prioritization, and analytical skills

• Strong organizational, prioritization, and planning skills

• Ability to multi-task and open to taking on a variety of different types of tasks

• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical team members

• Ability to install, configure and maintain servers, computers, networks and related hardware and software

• Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems

• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to learn and support new systems and applications

• Follows documentation best practices.

• Availability off-hours for schedule system maintenance and emergency situations.

• Candidates with Cloud experience (VCloud, Microsoft Azure) and industry IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Linux+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, CCA, etc. preferred
