What we do
Tech Frederick does three main things:

  • Advocacy
Working with local officials to build infrastructure that helps tech firms thrive.
  • Communications
Helping local tech workers stay in touch with each other, and with relevant things happening in the Frederick area.
  • Partnership
Fostering collaboration between local tech firms, so they can do more business together than they could individually.

    • More train service to DC
    • Super-fast broadband Internet
    • HUBZone facilities
  • How we got started
The City of Frederick’s Economic Development office interviewed several tech firm CEOs in town to find out what they wanted from the city that they weren’t currently getting.

CEOs of Federal contractors said they’d like:

Startup founders said they wanted a downtown incubator with shared work space, a conference room, and amenities.

CEOs of IT firms expressed their desire for recruiting help and more collaboration.

All of said they wanted “eyes” into what’s going on locally, and a “voice” to help advocate for the things they felt could benefit their companies and Frederick.

Tech Frederick was founded to help them accomplish these goals.
